- Furukawa Electric and Nokia, the world's No. 1 (note 1) OLT manufacturer, have entered into a strategic sales partnership in the field of ultra-high-speed broadband technology.
- Furukawa Electric will establish an environment to trial Nokia's 25G PON and future next-generation fiber solutions like 50G PON within its Hiratsuka factory and start operations by the end of 2025.
- The two companies started a strategic partnership in 2022 to accelerate the deployment of optical LANs in Latin America, and are now expanding similar efforts in Japan.
