Greetings by President Hideya Moridaira at the FY2025 Entrance Ceremony
- Composing the core of a brighter world by challenging social issues -
April 1, 2025
I am very pleased to have the opportunity today to welcome this year’s new employees brimming with hope into Furukawa Electric Group. I sincerely welcome you into Furukawa Electric Group.
We are currently working to achieve the Furukawa Electric Group Vision 2030. It sets forth the vision for our group in 2030, which is “In order to build a sustainable world and make people’s life safe, peaceful and rewarding, we will create solutions for the new generation of global infrastructure combining information, energy and mobility”. By achieving this primary goal, we aim to “become a company that is essential to society”.
This year, we celebrate our 141st anniversary. We have continued to grow and thrive over the years due to our ability to respond to the changes in the business environment and the requests and expectations of our customers and earn their trust.
In order to remain a corporate group that is needed by society, we need to ask ourselves what our strengths are and what is currently required of us, clarify how we can utilize our strengths to respond to the requests, and then take action. And we can maintain and improve our competitiveness by thinking of how to further bring out our strengths and making efforts. I ask everyone, myself included, to reflect on this point and take action.
Last year, we established the Group’s purpose, “Composing the core of a brighter world.” While carrying on Furukawa Electric founder Ichibei Furukawa’s desire to “make Japan brighter,” the wording has been revised to reflect our group’s reason for being is to create “indispensables” as the core of a better future by honing our technological and problem-solving capabilities since our foundation to approach various social issues and take on the challenges. Let’s achieve the Vision 2030 by being aware of this purpose.
