Congratulations to you all on joining our company. I am Hideya Moridaira, President, CEO of Furukawa Electric.

Goal to be achieved together
In 2024, our group set forth the Purpose of “Composing the core of a brighter world”. It expresses the value we provide, the image of our group in the future and our reason for existing.
Based on this Purpose, we set forth the Furukawa Electric Group Vision 2030 of “In order to build a sustainable world and make people’s life safe, peaceful and rewarding, Furukawa Electric Group will create solutions for the new generation of global infrastructure combining information, energy and mobility” expressing the group we intend to become in 2030.
Our goal is to become a corporate group that builds social infrastructure in our current three main business domains of information, energy and mobility and domains combining these, contribute to solving social issues and broadly benefit society. I want to achieve this goal together with all of you.
With this aim, I ask you to understand the values incorporated in the main statement of our Purpose: “Composing the core of a brighter world” and personalize these values. Let’s work together toward realizing the image set forth in Vision 2030.

Important attitudes for all employees
Place top priority on health and safety
It goes without saying that the ideal work environment is safe and healthy, but monozukuri in factories and onsite work at construction projects involve operations that can be dangerous. A single incorrect decision or action can result in a major accident, trouble, injury and quality deficiency. These operations have rules and procedures established based on extensive experience and accumulated know-how, and they can be performed safely by following these rules and procedures. Also, good health is essential for ensuring good work. Safety and health are the foundation of our business activities, and I ask you to maintain constant awareness of giving top priority to safety and health.
Strengthen the trust with others through dialogue, and address the tasks as a team
You will encounter many new work operations and unknown issues. Not everything will go as expected, and you will likely have worries. When attempting something you cannot achieve despite thinking and acting on your own or you are unable to achieve it alone, do not hesitate to ask for assistance from your superiors, veteran employees and colleagues. Based on mutual respect, hold frank dialogue as equals, and always listen. Active communication such as this will generate trust and solidarity. The actions will expand to other organizations and lead to faster results that do not lag behind the changes in society. As a member of Furukawa Electric Group, strengthen the trust with your colleagues through active dialogue, and tackle the issues as a team.
Strive to achieve the vision
Striving to address the issues you face in your current position will be seeds that will sprout into future success, personal growth and ultimately to the growth of the organization. Create a “vision” for yourself, recognize what you are still lacking and work to fill in that gap through your work and independent learning. At first, you may not be able to envision a clear image. Start by recognizing the differences between you and those around you, and while referencing the advice received from your superiors and veteran employees, gradually create a vision for yourself. Once you have created that vision, take bold actions without fear of failing, and strive with perseverance to achieve your dreams.
